The Egyptian Engineering Day 2015 lunches in 31 August under the theme “Grand Challenges Grant Opportunities”

The Egyptian Engineering Day 2015  will lunch its annual forum for students and engineers of Egypt  organized by IEEE Young Professionals – Egypt Section in cooperation with the official sponsor, the National Telecom Regularity Authority (NTRA)in 31 August  and over two days .

The fourteenth year of this event is held at the Conference Hall of Al-Azhar, under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb – The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Eng. Khaled Negm – Minister of Communications and Information Technology, under the theme "Grand Challenges Grant Opportunities”.

The event aims to contribute in the development of the Egyptian and Arabic product, and to highlight the creative and innovative solutions brought by the young engineers and keep up with what’s going on in our country though the graduation project exhibition, competitions, sessions, and workshops believing that engineers have a great role in the progress of the society.

The Egyptian Engineering Day for this year highlights the “Energy Problem” as it is one of the biggest current challenges in our country. The problem is discussed in a practical way during this event, where innovative and feasible solutions are to be stated and also discussing how to exploit the energy challenge putting forward opportunities for investment in the energy sector in Egypt.

Since its beginning the Egyptian Engineering Day supports all ideas that then became the cornerstone in the renaissance of Engineering in Egypt.

The Egyptian Engineering Day is considered the biggest event for engineering colleges from all over the country, for about thirteen years of progress and prosperity.

The Egyptian Engineering Day remains the dream that every engineering student awaits and even the industrialists and businessmen in Egypt and the Arab world also waits, as it opens opportunities to adopt ideas for successful  projects which contribute in solving real problems faced by our society. Those successful projects are being then financed and provided with the required support. Over the Previous years, the EED program is considered as one of the main pillars of the event, including many speakers with different backgrounds and experiences to cover the program tracks and enrich the public.

This year the program is divided into a primary track which is the “Energy Challenge” and the suggested solutions in the Egyptian reality in addition to several sub-tracks which also include current global challenges in the field of technology and Engineering such as: Wearables, Big Data, and Internet of Things (IOT). The Egyptian Engineering Day provides a real opportunity for the rise of creative ideas where competitions are held among engineering graduates in Egypt and the Arab World.

A constellation of university professors, industrialists and professionals assesses the graduates’ projects in various engineering fields.

The EED hosts three major events organized by IEEE- Egypt Section which are:  Egyptian Engineering Day Competition Where final year students of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences faculties compete and a selection of arbitrators assesses their projects in different engineering areas such as Mechanical
Electronics, Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Biomedical, Oil and Aeronautical Engineering

Made In Egypt Competition The arbitration ceremony of this prestigious competition is held during the Egyptian Engineering Day and the competition itself lasts for a full year in which the organizing team prepares a set of high-level training workshops in many areas such as the economic study of the product, Feasibility study and other workshops that qualify the participants to present their projects in the form of a product that can actually compete and deserves to hold the name of “Made In Egypt”.

Future City Competition It is a competition between schools students which aims to promote engineering and scientific tendencies among school students. This competition is held under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Education in which pre-university students compete after a full program of workshops on how to design a civilized full model for the city they would want to see in the future .

The Finals of both the competitions in addition to the Egyptian Engineering Day contest finals and giving the prizes are held during the event.
